The Preserve at Tara is a part of the Tara Development in Bradenton
Florida. The homes are interspersed between an open to the public
18 Hole Par 72, 7,000 Yd Championship Course and the nature
preserve which makes the Preserve at Tara so unique. One can
expect to be visited by water and land fowl of every kind, and awake
in the morning to the singing of birds and the rising sun. We are 30
minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches in Southwest
Florida, 20 minutes from the cultural activities of Sarasota and
Bradenton and minutes from fine shopping. The Preserve at Tara or
the “Preserve” as commonly referred to by the residents here, has a
consortium of home types including Condominiums and the features
commonly associated with them, Villas which are individual homes
with lawn and gardening maintenance included, Club Homes and
Executive Homes which are individual homes where maintenance is
the responsibility of the homeowner. The Villas, Club Homes and
Executive Homes increase in square footage and lot size. While many
homeowners and Condominium Associations have opted to have
their own pools, there is a common pool, tennis courts and
Community Center which can be used by all residents of the Preserve.
The Preserve is governed by a Community Development District
(CDD) which provides the “solution” to Florida’s need to provide
infrastructure to serve growth without overburdening other
governments and their taxpayers. Community Development Districts
represent a major advancement in Florida’s effort to manage its
growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to
establish a higher standard for construction, while providing a long-
term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community’s
facilities. In the Preserve, these include the Community Center, pool,
tennis courts, common grounds, lakes and the protection of the
Preserve areas. The Preserve (a deed restricted community) also
falls within the purview of the Tara Master Association Inc. which
provides for contracted TV cable services, Architectural Review
(grounds and home beautification standards) through its Preserve
Architectural Review Committee and the maintenance of the Entrance
to the Tara Development.
Amenities:
The Preserve has numerous walking and biking trails throughout the
property. It has a public pool and Community Center that supports a
number of activities and may also be used for private parties.
Golf:
Unlike many golf courses in Florida, the Preserve is not a part of a
private club. Yet, the homes are beautifully placed in and around the
Preserve Golf Course, privately owned, but open to the public. Their
web site is: http://www.golfthepreserve.com/?page=3046
Social & Activities:
The Preserve is a young community and is slowly building its social
functions and activities. Presently there is a Quilting Club, Bridge
Clubs that meet afternoons and evenings, Mahjong Clubs, and
Investment Clubs. All are advertised on our local access channel 60.
